Want
an unforgettable Wedding on a small, idyllic island? Planning your
Team Away-Day and fancy somewhere stress free and peaceful? Why

need to know….
Marriages
In
addition to traditional religious marriages,
the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust holds
a three year licence to allow you to have a civil marriage in the
Gigha Hotel, Achamore Gardens or on the beach at the Boathouse.
Contact the Trust Office (01583 505 390) to confirm the place you
wish to be married. There's a fee of £100 which
will cover your licence to get married at the selected venue. Should
you wish to get married elsewhere on the island you will need to
apply to Argyll & Bute Council for a special licence at an additional
cost. Details can be found on their website:

chosen location. The registrar fees range from £235 to £300
depending on day of the week. Ann is also the person to contact
if you wish to book the Village Hall for a Ceilidh, Dance or Event.

Wedding
Breakfast and Accommodation
Whether
you opt for a civil partnership or a religious ceremony in our unique
island church, The Gigha Hotel can cater for all you reception and
accommodation needs. Contact Valerie at the Gigha Hotel (01583 505
254). Valerie can help make the right package for your budget. This
can include Champagne on arrival and wine with your meal, or you
may bring your own if you prefer.
Disco/Ceilidh
– The Hotel Dining Room is sometimes used for small dances. For
larger events you can either erect a marquee near the Hotel or use
the Village Hall instead. As mentioned above you need to check the
Hall is available with Ann McSporran. Then speak to Valerie at the
Gigha Hotel and she can arrange for a Bar to be in the Village Hall
(free of charge). You need to book your own Dance Band, Ceilidh
Band or Disco and don't forget to organise accommodation for them.
It tends to be traditional on Gigha that dances are open to all
islanders, so just put a poster in the Shop Window to invite everyone
along. You can, of course, have a private function if you prefer,
but it won't be as much fun!!
Meetings,
Conferences and Events
Gigha
is a relaxing and inspirational place to hold your Conferences or
Team Meetings. Previous successful events have included; SNH area
team building and training days, small islands network conference,
renewable energy conference, community housing conference and artists
training week. In their spare time your delegates can play golf,
cycle the island, get a massage, tour Achamore Gardens or join the
locals in the pub for a friendly chat.
Again,
the person to contact is Valerie at the Gigha Hotel (01583 505 254).
She can sort out a package to suit your budget. The Dining Room
or the Lounge are used for meetings depending on numbers, and we
will provide coffee breaks and lunch for you.
Far
away from the stress of work, Gigha is an ideal place to recharge
you batteries and relax with you colleagues.
