Achamore Gardens
The South-East Garden
A compartment which houses some of the larger leafed rhododendron, but are crowded out with inappropriate camelia and griselinia plantings. The trees are very mature and too dense to allow successful plant growth.
We would like to re-design this site by vastly thinning out the mature tree growth, removal of the "wrong" plants and strategically plant groups of various ornamental birch so that the bark and leaf textures can be displayed to a maximum. Selected shrub or even herbaceous plants can be used, but this area could be a site for an annual outdoor art installation.
We would have to work out the possible logistics and see what resources and funding can be found before embarking upon such an ambitious project and whether I have the labour resources to maintain.
