Bill and Rosemary Legge
We have been living on Gigha for two years. Rosemary had breast
cancer four years ago and, following her operations, was finding
it very stressful to work full time as a Church of Scotland minister.
We came to Gigha so that Rosemary could work as a part time minister
in a small church and, as a result, her health has improved tremendously
over the past two years.
Bill soon found part time work at the fish farm. This was a new
experience for him coming from a farming background in North East
Scotland and has proved very enjoyable. He also enjoys going to
work as a green keeper on the golf course and is occasionally called
upon to use his skills as a keen cyclist to fix people's bikes.
We both enjoy being part of a small community and having time to
know people. We look forward to spending many more happy years on
Gigha. One of our hobbies is walking and we have been pleased to
have the opportunity of getting involved in the development of Gigha's
footpath network.
We have also enjoyed taking part in computer classes, Gaelic classes,
keep-fit and various social events as well as helping visitors to
appreciate the history and beauty of the island through guided walks.
